Title: Drabbles: Working Girl
Fandom: FMA (manga version)
Character(s): Winry, with appearances from others
Pairing(s): Canon 'ships in the background.
Word Count: 1100 so far.
Warnings: None.
A/N: Part of my LJ-to-Dreamwidth fanfiction port, this series formally began in January 2009, though it picked up two drabbles posted separately earlier. So many of my friends, online and off, were job-hunting or experiencing job weirdness that it invaded my 'fic. So here's Winry Rockbell, working girl, in a variety of professional situations (or situations at least marginally related to her profession). Concrit welcomed with letters of recommendation. Dedication(s): See individual drabbles below.

Job-hunting during a recession makes most people desperate; Winry Rockbell just gets cranky.

Title: Ivory Gate
Fandom: FMA (anime v. 1.0)
Character(s): Ed, Noa (Alfons Heiderich in flashback)
Pairing(s): None
Rating: PG (for mild language)
Warnings: Spoilers for the FMA movie.
A/N: Part of my LJ-to-Dreamwidth fanfiction port; first written in 2006. This constitutes a pair of deleted scenes from the movie, fleshing out some character and plot points that interested me. Translation and cultural notes can be found at the end. Crossposted from [personal profile] nebroadwe to [community profile] fm_alchemist and [community profile] hagaren.
Dedication: For the good folk of rec.arts.anime.misc, especially Laurie and Dave, in gratitude for many engrossing hours of discussion (not to mention the advice that allowed me to purchase and watch a R2 copy of Fullmetal Alchemist: Conqueror of Shamballa six months before the R1 version was released).

Trust no one; betrayal is certain.

Title: Country Matters
Fandom: FMA (mangaverse)
Character(s): Pinako, Hohenheim
Pairing: Hohenheim/Trisha (offstage)
Rating: PG (for mild language and the situation under discussion)
Warnings: Spoilers for two tidbits of information, one in chapter 40, the other in chapter 54.
A/N: Part of my LJ-to-Dreamwidth fanfiction port; this short story was written in 2006 (before we knew anything about Hohenheim's backstory at all, really -- and before I'd learned to write shorter paragraphs for online viewing) and was my first substantial creative contribution to the FMA fandom. It's set before the beginning of the manga and I'd like to think that it still works, despite all the revelations since then. (I had much more Machiavellian suspicions about Hohenheim's marriage to Trisha in those days.) Opinions welcomed. Dedication: For Katie S.

She glared at the door again and hoped he felt her gaze boring into his back. What are you doing, Hohenheim? And why the hell did you come here to do it?

Title: Sketch: Lost
Fandom: FMA (animeverse, v. 1.0)
Character(s): Sheska
Pairing: None
Rating: G
Warnings: Spoilers for episodes 25 and (if you squint) 38.
A/N: Part of my LJ-to-Dreamwidth fanfiction port; this character sketch was actually written in 2006, but I still like it. I don't usually let my English major this far off the leash, and it's even more seldom that I can incorporate matters of professional concern in my 'fic (I was once myself advised that reading on the job is dangerous ...).
